2025 GETTING OFF WITH A BANG—The first "X-CLASS FLARE" Arrives just two days after The G4 (Severe) Geomagnetic Storm Alert on New Years Day and the second "MAJOR QUAKE of 2025" arrives rocking North West Chile

Not to be left out, just three days in—2025 recorded its first X-Class Solar Flare and came just two days after New Year's Day, G4 (Severe) Geomagnetic Storm which rocked our magnetosphere forty-eight hours ago. Full Story Here  The X1.2 solar flare came from the new active sunspot region 3947 in the northeast section of our Star and is the first X-Class Flare of this new year. 2024 was an explosive year for our Sun when it recorded a record number of X-Class Flares—a massive count of 55, which was an incredible 20 more than the previous record in 2002.

NOAA forecasters have issued a G1-class geomagnetic storm watch for Jan. 4th and 5th when a CME and a stream of solar wind are expected to graze Earth's magnetic field. This should be a relatively minor event, much less intense than the severe G4-class storm of Jan. 1st.

Meanwhile, the second major quake mag 6 or higher of 2025 was recorded last night night. A fairly deep, strong magnitude 6.1 was recorded in the NorthWest mountains of Chile. It's not known if anyone died or if severe damage happened, however, the area is sparsely populated.

A Paradox!

With all the weather phenomena and natural disasters increasing in 2024 you would expect major quakes, (mag 6 or higher) to be increasing too, however, they are going down! The year 2024 proved to be the lowest amount of major quakes (magnitude 6 or higher) recorded in modern times—USGS has recorded only 100 major quakes (mag 6 or higher) for 2024—last year's total is by far the lowest count since the 1980s, see the graph below.
