Not for the first time this year, but, could well be the last—A major quake has been recorded in the middle of a large storm! This afternoon, a mag 6.3, reduced by USGS to a 6.1 has rocked the Eastern Aleutian Islands which are being battered by a massive storm. NOAA has released a Winter Weather Advisory for the area, see below.

As we enter the dying embers of 2023 143 major quakes, (mag 6 or higher) have been recorded around the world with just 10 days left of this year, which is jolly-well average for the 21st century!
