Hawaii's Kilauea volcano is erupting again on the South Island! Volcano Observatory alert level for the Kilauea  volcano has risen from WATCH to WARNING and its aviation colour code from ORANGE to RED. Seismic activity has increased. . .


HAWAIʻI ISLAND - Kilauea volcano began erupting on Thursday, January 5th, at approximately 4:34 p.m. HST. The USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory elevated Kilauea’s  volcano alert level from WATCH to WARNING and its aviation colour code from ORANGE to RED. More than 200 small to medium size quakes have rumbled on or near the volcano in the last 7 days. The biggest being a magnitude of 3.5.
