There is something very mysterious going on around the waters of Sevastopol in the Black Sea and the Russians have been going to incredible lengths to cover up this mystery since the Summer of 2017! Is GPS spoofing killing thousands of dolphins, birds and fish?

Google Maps shows the mysterious area in the Black Sea.

It's an area described by President Zelensky as 'hell.' and according to reports from Ukraine this weekend, tens of thousands of fish along with thousands of dolphins as well as marine fauna are washing up dead along the coastlines of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Many more, fish and dolphins will have died and sunk to the bottom of the sea and will never be counted.

According to Odesa ecologist, Ivan Rusev tens of thousands of dolphins had died in the Black Sea three months after the Russian aggression from explosions and the impact of sonar. “Analysis of the available data we collected during the three months of the war on the coast of our national park, as well as from recent open publications from Ukraine, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania and based on personal reports of my foreign friends and colleagues, we assume that due to brutal and of the insane war of the Russians in the Black Sea, since the beginning of the war and to date have been killed several thousand dolphins, “- wrote Rusev. In the sea near the estuary of the Bulgarian river Ropotamo several exhausted dolphins were found, some of which had burns from bomb blasts or mines, could not navigate, and therefore look for food. According to experts who examined them, the animals did not eat for at least 10 days. Those who were not burnt suffered internal damage. Full Story

All the reports I have read indicate the deaths have been caused by the war in Ukraine, and indeed, the war may well be responsible for many of the marine deaths but . . . This area has a strange history of mass die-offs and other strange mysteries, including "GPS spoofing," involving Russia and Nato stretching back six years at the very least!

In June 2021 a Dutch navy vessel became the latest NATO ship intercepted by Russian fighter jets in the Black Sea just a day after another 20 Russian aircraft and two coastguard ships threatened a British Naval ship in an area where "strange GPS spoofing," mass marine deaths, and collisions have been happening.

The Russian military has something very special and NATO is desperate to get its hands on it.

There is probably a very sinister reason the Russians didn't want NATO ships anywhere near the waters of the Kerch Strait just South of the Crimea, in the Black Sea. A report by Russia Today last June claimed a Dutch navy ship was the latest NATO ship intercepted by fighter jets in the Black Sea on the 24th of June, in an area where just the day before more than 20 Russian aircraft and two coastguard ships shadowed HMS Defender as it was sailing off the coast of Crimea. A patrol ship fired warning shots and a jet dropped bombs in the Royal Naval ship's path.

These encounters go on all the time between NATO and Russia but the specific area Russia is defending so aggressively and NATO is so determined to enter, has a rather strange history.

There is something very mysterious going on, in and around the waters of Sevastopol in the Black Sea and the Russians have been going to incredible lengths to cover up this mystery since the Summer of 2017.

What happened to the British Navy ship on Wednesday the 23 of June 2021, and the Dutch navy ship just a day later is the latest in a number of "strange events" which have happened in the Black Sea recently. The mysterious events began in April 2017, when a huge diplomatic incident occurred after a Turkish freighter collided with a Russian warship in the Black Sea, with a Russian commander claiming the event was "out of the ordinary!" A BBC report claimed; The Border Security Force said the Russian crew had followed all the rules of sailing and maneuvering and it suggested the incident had been caused by the other ship, Russia's Interfax news agency reports. A former commander of the fleet, Adm Viktor Kravchenko, told Interfax the event was "out of the ordinary". "There have been collisions but I do not remember a case like this, of a vessel, a warship sinking after it," he said. How could a sophisticated military ship miss a freighter? Full story

Two months later in June 2017,  the "U.S. Maritime Administration" reported that the GPS HDOP, Horizontal Dilution of Precision (Global Positioning System) was "25 nautical miles off course," just south of the Kerch Strait in the Black Sea. In the same year, hundreds of dead dolphins and birds suddenly began and still are, washing up dead in the same area. Dolphins and birds have their own GPS navigational system needed to survive. Did the British Naval vessel's GPS reading fail to place the British Ship ship in Russian waters unintentionally on June the 24th 2021, or were the Brits looking for something in particular? And why would the Dutch go back to such a sensitive area just a day later? They wouldn't unless they got lost!

On the 4th of September, 2017, TBW reported a strange event that happened in the Black Sea area of Novorossiysk, Russia (about 120 miles West of the British Navy incident in 2021) when the U.S. Maritime Administration reported that, GPS HDOP, Horizontal Dilution of Precision (Global Positioning System) was showing 0.8 accuracies within 100m, but given the ship's, location, was actually 25 nautical miles off course, just south of the Kerch Strait, near Krasnador, according to its GPS display. It was an apparent mass and blatant, GPS spoofing attack involving over "20 vessels" in the Black Sea which had navigation experts and maritime executives scratching their heads according to the U.S. Maritime Administration.

On the 25th of November, 2018, Ukraine and Russia were involved in one of the most serious naval confrontations between the two countries. Russian Navy vessels first rammed and then later fired on and captured three Ukrainian Navy vessels, marking the first time Russian-flagged military units had officially attacked those of Ukraine. The confrontation has become known as the Kerch Strait incident. Full story

The Dutch incident

Why would the Dutch Navy go back to the same area where 20 Russian aircraft and two coastguard ships shadowed the British ship, HMS Defender just the day before? Fighter planes and bomber jets were dispatched to follow a Dutch naval vessel only after it changed direction towards Russian waters, defence officials in Moscow said on Tuesday, June the 24th 2021, causing a  diplomatic spat over the incident. The frigate Evertsen was on course to violate the Russian border in the Black Sea but was prevented from doing so by Russian jets flying at a safe distance from the vessel, Moscow claimed, in response to the Dutch Navy's complaints. The incident occurred on June 24, just a day after the British Royal Navy destroyer HMS Defender violated Russian territorial waters off Crimea’s Cape Fiolent and was warned off by jets and a coast guard vessel.

Quite by accident, it came to the attention of TBW that since June 2017, when the GPS attack happened hundreds of reports of dead dolphins and bird deaths have been reported around the area of Novorossiysk. As you may well know dolphins and birds need Earth's magnetic field to navigate which got me wondering if the GPS experiments had affected the wildlife.

On June the 27th 2017, just 5 days after the event above, a press release by the Kyiv Post claimed - KRASNODAR – The number of dead dolphins washed up on the Black Sea beach, from Sochi to Anapa, had reached 167, Krasnodar Territory prosecutor Sergei Tabelsky said. 167 is a poor estimate because many more would have died out at sea and sank to the bottom)

Scientific organizations concluded that in 99 percent of cases, the mammals died in the coastal areas of Krasnodar Territory. They were simply thrown ashore by the sea,” Tabelsky said at a regional prosecutors’ forum on local environmental safety issues on June 27. The scientists who investigated mass dolphin deaths have yet to come to a unanimous opinion as to the causes of what happened, the prosecutor said. The investigation was carried out by two Crimean-based scientific organizations and Moscow’s Severtsev Institute of Ecology. “Some of the animals died after having entangled themselves in fishing nets, others from exhaustion, from virus infections, and various parasites. The specialists have so far been "unable" to establish a causal link in the dolphins’ deaths,” Tabelsky said. Full Story

Dolphin Rescue Center "Delfa" is looking for volunteers.

From the very beginning of February, active calls began on the hotline of the center. So, on February 4, 2017, four emissions were reported at once: an emaciated white barrel in Gelendzhik with traces of being caught in the nets, a white barrel in Vityazevo, and an albino azovka in Lazarevskoye. The remains of another dolphin were found in Dzhemet, the dolphin rescue center said. Experts noted that there are not enough volunteers in the center in different districts of the region

On the 1st of March, 2021 a report claimed all the beaches of Novorossiysk are strewn with carcasses of dead birds. The townspeople are posting horrific photos and videos on social media. Residents of Novorossiysk sound the alarm: all the beaches of the city are strewn with carcasses of dead birds. The Novorossiysk have never seen such a number of bird corpses on the shore.

A local picture showing some of the dead birds

The townspeople have removed the new embankment of the city, strewn with dead birds. On the Sudzhuk Spit, in the water area of the Tsemesskaya Bay next to the cruiser "Mikhail Kutuzov", in Dyurso, in Myskhako. It is noteworthy that all these beaches are buried in the garbage - plastic, and household waste. Local residents are concerned about the massive death of birds. The situation was commented on by Anton Popovich, head of the commission for the protection and study of natural ecosystems in the North-West Caucasus of the Novorossiysk branch of the Russian Geographical Society. The locals are convinced the deaths are due to garbage. Full Story

Dozens of dead dolphins and birds were found in the Krasnodar Territory.

Four days later, dead dolphins and birds were found on the coast of the village of Dzhubga (Krasnodar Territory). “I don’t know what is being thrown into the water here, this is Dzhubga, but there are a lot of dead birds, and dolphins claimed a reporter. I don’t know what it’s connected with. Moreover, the birds are all of the same species? ”

The same pictures, according to RBC, began to be published in February on social networks residents of Vityazevo and Gelendzhik. The Anapa authorities associate this with the cold, noting that the locals and guests of the resorts help feed the swans, ducks, and crested grebes every day, but they cannot save everyone. The head of the press service of the Gelendzhik administration, Yanina Skorikova, told RBC that this is an annual phenomenon. Full Story
