A shallow earthquake of magnitude 6.4 struck on Monday south of the resort town of Ushuaia in Argentina, the United States Geological Survey said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties from the quake, which hit 324 km (201 miles) south of Ushuaia, on the archipelago of Tierra del Fuego, at a depth of 10 km (6 miles).
Earlier a magnitude 6.1 - 93km SW of Acajutla, El Salvador a vulnerable area which suffers frequent major quakes.
This morning's major quakes are the 14th and 15th this month and bring the total to 103 for 2018 which is just 8 behind last years 12 month total.
