2 Peter 3:3,4
3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”
We are often told earthquakes have increased but without the actual facts, so I have done some number crunching and gone all the way back to 1900 to the present day, you might find what I have discovered interesting!
ISIS amongst others are providing the fearful events and you could say the extreme weather we are witnessing and the recent blood moons are great signs from heaven.
I wondered though, earthquakes have always been around, are we seeing stronger and more frequent earthquakes?
I accessed the earthquake information web-site USGS and downloaded every quake of a magnitude 6 or greater and fed the information into a series of graphs, the results as you can see above are outstanding!
In the year 1900 our planet recorded 22 earthquakes of M6. or greater, 9 were between M6 to 6.9, 13 were between M7 to 7.9.
Exactly 100 years later in the year 2000 our planet recorded a staggering 173 earthquakes of M6. or greater, of which 158 were between M6 to 6.9 and 15 above M6.9.
I know many of you at this point will be thinking yes but the technology is better now and we probably have more monitors, well yes I would agree but for another staggering fact, only magnitude 6 to 6.9 have increased, earthquakes of magnitude 7 to 9.9 have remained incredibly stable, see below.
In the 10 year period 1900/19 our planet averaged 28.9 quakes of M6 or larger
In the following ten year period 1910/19 our planet averaged 32
1920/29 averaged 31.7
1930/39 averaged 37.8
1940/49 averaged 46.6
1950/59 averaged 45.1
1960/69 averaged 65.5
1970/79 averaged 103.1
1980/89 averaged 108.5
1990/99 averaged 149.2
2000/09 averaged 161.1
the years 2010 to 2013 are so far averaging 161.
And finally the number of earthquakes of M5-5.9 or smaller, you can see on the graph below another fascinating contradiction. Magnitude 5 to 5.9 increase much steadily since 1960, actually a small reduction in the 90's while Magnitude 4 and 3 quakes have exploded since the 70.s
1960/69-M5-5.9= 971 M3 and 4 No data
1970/79-M5-5.9=11012. M4-4.9=18188. M3-3.9=4496.
1980/89-M5-5.9=14886. M4-4.9=37458. M3-3.9=17441.
1990/99-M5-5.9=13526. M4-4.9=62062. M3-3.9=45916.
2000/09-M5-5.9=15697. M4-4.9=101715. M3-3.9=77559.
Earthquakes around the globe then are indeed increasing rapidly except, it would seem for earthquakes in the category M7-7.9 for some strange reason?

More than 2000 years ago Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives when some of his disciples asked Him, "what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"
He answered, "There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven".Famines in 3rd world countries are so common they are hardly mentioned in the media these days, pestilences are all too topical at the moment with Ebola gripping the world with fear, Dengue fever on the rise in Asia and Enterovirus D68 targeting the kids in the US.
ISIS amongst others are providing the fearful events and you could say the extreme weather we are witnessing and the recent blood moons are great signs from heaven.

Dear Gary,
You and Carol are a real team. I hope to hear more dialogues between you.
Keep up the good work. Extinction is not a pretty subject but I feel you are doing it justice and keeping a positive outlook. Making the most of our brief stay here is something for which to strive.
YrsTr,
Al
