2024 just keeps on surprising us in ways we may not expect. This week NOAA recorded three more X-Class Flares, which have broken the record for most X-Class Flares in a year this century. And we still have four months to go until the end of the year! This year 36 X-Class Flares have been recorded, 2 higher than the year total of 34 in 2021. I can't find any source which has recorded yearly X-Class Files going further back than 1997—So what we are witnessing this year is probably the highest number of X-Class Flares in one year ever recorded!
But that's not all . . .
Credit NOAA and The Space Prediction CentreSolar Cycle 25 likely reached the highest sunspot number yet - a value of at least 299. The Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) non-official, estimated daily sunspot number for August 8th was 337, a value not observed since March 2001. However, the official SSN is determined by the World Data Center - Sunspot Index and Long-Term Solar Observations (WDC-SILSO) and its Solar Influences Data Center (SIDC) at the Royal Observatory in Belgium; and their initial daily estimate for August 8th was 299.According to Spaceweather.com, the Earthside of the sun just hit its highest sunspot number (299) in more than 20 years. The farside sunspot count might be even higher.
What could this mean?
As you can see above, 2024 will be a record-breaking year of recorded X-Class Flares. Although sunspot numbers are very high we still don't know the true value for this year but it will be much higher than in recent years. What is very interesting here is that 2025 and not 2024 is expected to be the busiest year of Solar Cycle 25, we could be heading for unchartered territory.
The last time we had a sunspot count like this was in 1957—The very year of the beginning of the space race—Coincidently, NASA recorded a graph showing what happened to solar activity and the temperature of the world the very year this happened—The results are fascinating.
Credit NASA—Global temperature vs Solar Activity Since the last time sunspot activity reached such proportions world temperature suddenly rose, last year was the hottest year ever, and this year so far has been even hotter! What's gonna happen?
What happened in 1957?
On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 1957 just two months after the Soviet Sputnik 1 launch a truly great sign from heaven occurred. It was also something never before seen in the history of mankind. According to the Royal Observatory of Belgium, along with other scientific observers, on 48 hours during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 1957, our star suddenly exploded with a record-busting, 503 sunspots, our sun was suddenly going ballistic . . . On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 1957 our Sun shocked scientists and experts with 503 sunspots each day, this was an unprecedented number of sunspots. Our Sun was acting wild, which scared the science community at the time, resulting in President Eisenhower authorising the opening of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in July 1958 apparently to find out more.
But, the whole year of 1957 had already produced a record number of sunspots before the huge Christmas explosion. Below is a clip from a report by Thomas Cragg from the Mount Wilson and Palomar Observatories in the US.

Coincidently, 1957 delivered one of the great prophesies from Jesus Christ, 'great signs from heaven.' which of course was the record-sunspot activity but—1957 was a record-breaking year on Earth too, and it delivered another prophecy from Jesus Christ—And how!
There will be GREAT EARTHQUAKES IN ONE PLACE AND ANOTHER!
Worldwide major quakes were actually declining until the 1950s
During the Second World War, major earthquakes (magnitude 6 or higher), for some strange reason began to decline worldwide. As WW1 ended in 1918 our planet saw a steady rise in major quakes, (mag 6 or higher.)
Jesus had warned us—“There will be great earthquakes in one place and another.” Indeed, there was.
After WWI, major quakes continued to increase, impressively, reaching a peak of 74 in 1934. However, for some reason, they began steadily decreasing as WWII approached. Why did the earth’s seismic activity decline so much during the terrible fighting of WWII? I don't know, but they did.
In 1947 just after WWII had ended just 29 major quakes, (mag 6 or higher) were recorded during the entire year which was by far the lowest yearly total since 27 were recorded way back in 1921. But something was about to change. . .
By 1957 that number had increased to "204,"—An incredible number! The average number of major quakes (mag 6 or higher) per year, worldwide in the ‘1940s was 35—In 1950 that number suddenly rocketed by almost 400%.
I made this graph in January 2019 (data USGS) showing the incredible jump in major quakes in 1957. Was this linked to the record-busting sunspots on our sun in the same year? (See footnote)
Megaquake . . .
We will never know for sure of course, and it's interesting to see, that seismic activity in 2024 is slightly below average for this century. Only 64 major quakes, (mag 6 or higher) have been recorded so far this year, however,—The recent mag 7.1 quake in Japan has jolted their government into releasing a rare higher-than-usual risk of a "megaquake" off the Pacific Coast—It was the first such advisory of its kind and has baffled many ordinary Japanese people.
There has been much concern about the American West Coast recently too, with unusual seismic activity being reported, of course, tens of thousands of small quakes are recorded off the West Coast every year but—the US is due a big one.
So, is solar activity going to continue increasing and will it surpass what happened in 1957, don't forget, Solar Cycly 25 is not expected to peak until 2025 and if it does will we once again receive a barrage of major quakes in 2025 resembling 1957 and will Japan, or the West Coast of the US suffer a mega quake? We will have to wait and see.
Footnote USGS:
I have been researching quakes at USGS for nearly 20 years—Historical earthquake data on their website is constantly being altered, and that's official, they admit doing it— According to USGS, this is because they are continuously updating earthquake data and information to ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date. However,—Much of the data they are altering is from as far back as 1900. The graph above was made by me on January 6 2019, the amount of major quakes recorded in the year 1957 has since been altered to 185 by USGS.
