Bingo! A massive mag 7.1 has rocked the South Pacific Island of Vanuatu this afternoon less than 1,000 km from Tropical Cyclone Jasper, off the Australian East Coast.

This afternoon's quake was already the 9th major quake, mag 6 or higher of December but what is more impressive was that all major quakes, mag 6 or higher since Nov 1st 23 have occurred along the western flank of the South Pacific Ring.
