Doomsday Clock tik-tocked to its closest time to doomsday yesterday! The speed of decline our planet has succumbed too since the invention of the A-Bomb has been breathtaking yet, most of us don't ever make the connection. Our environment has collapsed just as severely as society since Oppenheimer released his deadly toy!

Yesterday without fanfare or fuss, the Doomsday Clock, tik-tocked to its closest time ever towards doomsday when it was adjusted to just 90 seconds before midnight. It is the nearest the world has been to disaster since the clocks inauguration in 1947 by the Bulletin Of The Atomic Scientists.

"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing our world he didn't exist."

The speed of decline our planet has succumbed too since the invention of the Atom Bomb has been breathtaking and yet, most of us don't ever make the connection. Even so, our environment has collapsed just as severely as society since Oppenheimer released his deadly toy. . .

I read somewhere that to really understand something is to be liberated from it. Yet, how can we liberate ourselves from our vain attempt at global progress which has, in all intents and purposes, destroyed the very place in which we live? Our world is collapsing, an implosion on a scale unimaginable just a few years ago, even though it was happening then. As a species the working-class hero has discovered a bastion of information since the introduction of the internet back in the 90s. Even so, all the newly discovered information offered no silver bullet of hope, just a glimpse into mankinds's folly.

As a species, we have accomplished incredible achievements in medicine, science, physics, technology and art. Men have walked on the moon and our scientists have sent spaceships to every planet in our Solar System. We seem to be capable of doing anything we want—But two of the simplest of problems have dogged us for thousands of years: accomplishing peace and eradicating poverty.

And still, the insanity continues. . .

We are entering a brave new world, to quote Aldus Huxley. New technology has arrived which we could of only dreamed of just a few years ago, we have arrived in a futuristic si-fi world Hollywood couldn't even have imagined just 20 years ago. We are on the cusp of dark and frightening cataclysmic breakthroughs which will not only change our lives forever but also alter our perception of what is even possible! Indeed, we will not believe our own eyes, what we saw yesterday as being real will not necessarily be real in the near future. If we are fooled by Deep Fake Technology now, well, I can only wonder what will be possible in a couple of years from now.

The powers that be. The movers and shakers, the captains of industry, our Kings, Queens, Presidents and leaders all agree  we are approaching mankind's 4th Industrial revolution. All work they say, manual and intellectual will be done by Artificial Intelligence, (AI), robots to you and me. If a task is too technical for a robot to do alone, a transhumanist will be the there to aid the robot. A transhuman is someone who will be connected to a world-wide technology, similar to the internet, however, much faster and immensely more powerful.  We will all be expected to be connected to this world-wide technology. Without it we will not be able to live in a house, work, shop, have a bank account or indeed a health insurance. As we saw during the vaccine mandate during the peak of Covid, none compliance will not be tolerated.

The technology is already here and much more we haven't even heard of, stuff we can't even imagine. The launch of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence chatbot, has marked a new era in AI - and sparked widespread fears over the effect of artificial intelligence on the job market. Its abilities to write poems, screenplays, take exams and simulate entire chat rooms have led some to suggest it could rapidly take over jobs in customer service, copywriting and even the legal profession. ‘I believe that ChatGPT could replace 20 percent of the workforce claims,’ AI expert Richard DeVere, Head of Social Engineering for Ultima.  20%? I think that is a very conservative estimate. It is very much a tool which is still in its infancy but . . . What makes ChatGPT so very scary is, it learns as it evolves, so it will just keep on getting smarter.

We haven't develpt the full potential for 5G yet, but, according to Koushik Cruz, 6G will be the next big thing.  First and foremost, it’s important to note that 6G is still in the early stages of development. At this point, it’s difficult to say exactly what 6G will look like or what capabilities it will have. However, there are a few key areas that are expected to be a focus of 6G research and development. One of the main goals of 6G is to provide even faster and more reliable connections than 5G. This could involve a range of technologies, such as higher frequency bands, advanced antenna technologies, and more efficient use of the wireless spectrum. Another area of focus for 6G is expected to be the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. This could enable 6G networks to be more adaptable and responsive, potentially allowing for more sophisticated applications and services.

One thing for sure, what makes the latest technology different from the past is its ability to evolve, grow and learn, which is actually very frightening when you consider, we don't really know what we will be dealing with in later years. If this technology realises it doesn't want to be switched off for instance, will it learn to defend itself? We should assume, if this tech learns about humans and just what we are capable of it will find ways to protect itself.
