"Our very future depended on being the ones who first seized ownership of space." “Control of space means control of the world,” Johnson declared. “From space, the masters of infinity would have the power to control the earth’s weather, to cause drought and flood, to change the tides and raise the levels of the sea, to divert the gulf stream and change temperate climates to frigid.” Vice President Johnson at Southwest Texas State University (1962).
It is often easy to miss important events due to the stresses and worries we are all having during the onset of winter here in the west. For instance, the massive hurricane Ian rocked Cuba, Florida and the Carolinas this week. The stock market suffered its worse September on record. The British Pound dropped to its lowest point ever against the Dollar and the Chinese Yuan, the Euro and the Japenese Yen all crashed in a few days of madness last weekend, something TBW predicted here by the way.
Energy prices are expected to massively rise again this month and inflation and food shortages are expected to jump once again in October. Mortgages are expected to grow and the banks, the very people we baled out in 2008 will be licking their greedy lips at the prospect of grabbing houses back from people who can't afford to pay their mortgage. Add to that the madman who has taken over the asylum known as Russia, and well yes, the environment has taken a back seat as you would imagine.
What a wonderful world!
So it probably won't come as any surprise to many of you that our environment is collapsing just as rapidly as our society.
Bill sent me a link last night from the WND claiming hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of birds have dropped dead in New Mexico recently. In recent weeks, hundreds of thousands of migratory birds dropped dead from the sky in New Mexico. Looking at written observations, photos, and videos from across the state, a professor at New Mexico State University’s department of fish, wildlife, and conservation ecology, Martha Desmond, speculates that the number of dead birds could be in the hundreds of thousands, even millions. Desmond says that the strange incident was “unprecedented”. She added that the incident may have been triggered by several things, including the recent drought conditions caused by the nearby raging wildfires. There’s also the strange chill and early snowfall in Northern New Mexico, however, they don't really know why this is happening. Full story
Last week, about 250 whales were stranded on Tasmania’s west coast, just days after 14 sperm whales were found beached on an island off the southeastern coast of Tasmania. The pod, which was stranded on Ocean Beach, appeared to be pilot whales the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania said.
Incredibly, a similar event happened in the same spot two years ago to the day. I quoted then, on TBW that the whale stranding on the Tasmanian coast was the largest recorded in the state's history, authorities claimed almost 500 pilot whales stranded. I said at the time; "in my 12 years of reporting mass whale strandings I had never reported a total anywhere near this number, it is an absolute astonishing stranding!" Now two years later to the day almost 250 pilot whales are stranded at exactly the same spot, how, why?
The disease, called lumpy skin disease, is spread by insects that drink blood like mosquitoes and ticks. Infected cows and buffaloes get fevers and develop lumps on their skin. Farmers have experienced severe losses from extreme weather events over the past year: a record-shattering heat wave in India reduced wheat yields in April, insufficient rainfall in eastern states like Jharkhand state shrivelled parched winter crops such as pulses, and an unusually intense September rainfall has damaged rice in the north. And now, the virus has spread to at least 15 states with the number of cow and buffalo deaths nearly doubling in three weeks, the Press Trust of India news agency reported. Full story
The exceptional heat of 2022 is beginning to die down here in the Northern Hemisphere but it has been another record-breaking hot summer for many of us, despite a cooling La Niña event, which is now mature and impacting weather patterns in many parts of the world. “Record warm years have usually coincided with a strong El Niño event, as was the case in 2016. We are now experiencing a La Niña, which has a cooling effect on global temperatures but has not been sufficient to put a brake on this year’s heat. Despite the current La Niña conditions, this year has already shown near-record heat comparable to the previous record of 2016 and 2020.
But what causes this ever-increasing heat-rise which is supposedly destroying our planet and killing wildlife in unprecedented numbers?
NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) like to blame us, we are killing the planet because we drive around in gas-guzzling cars for pleasure, use aeroplanes to reach faraway destinations and work in dirty emission-producing factories. However, NASA and NOAA are actually to blame for the warming of our planet, let me explain.
Since 1945, the US has been responsible for an incredible, 114, 270 nuclear weapon tests of a worldwide total of 2,000 according to Forbes. The incredible damage done to our planet's atmosphere and ionosphere is incalculable and the madness continues.
The Space Shuttle made 135 space flights during its 30-year career, which is more than 41,000 tons of aluminian oxide 3, 510 tons of chlorine gas, 945 tons of nitrogen dioxide gas and 32,400 tons of HCI gas thrown into our atmosphere and that is just the Space Shuttle, throw in Gemini, Apollo and Saturn missions etc, the Russian Space exploration, India and China, the thousands of satellites launched into space, thousands of sounding rockets, (NASA's airborne researchers) add to this more than 2,000 nuclear weapons tests and you begin to imagine the damage mankind has done to our atmosphere, the ionosphere and the ozone layer.
The firing of rockets into space coincided with an event on our Sun which left the science community at the time very worried. The USSR launched Sputnik 1, the first artificial satellite in space in October 1957, followed by Explorer 1, the first satellite launched by the United States. However, a month earlier, something happened to our Sun during Christmas on the 24th and 25th of December 1957. Something which defied logic and physics, and our sun went ballistic. Was this an explosion of anger because humans had dared to enter the heavens? The story begins with a report from SAO/NASA data system (ADS). Thomas Cragg wrote:
During 1957, observations of the Sun were made at Mount Wilson Observatory in Washington on 310 days of that year. Not since 1941 have solar observations been possible on as few days in one year as in 1957.
The total number of sunspot groups observed at Mount Wilson in 1957 was 855, the largest number ever observed in one year. The previous record was 633 in 1947.
SAO/NASA data system (ADS) claimed, "without question, we are witnessing the greatest sunspot activity ever recorded." SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS)The period described above was solar cycle 19, the nineteenth solar cycle since 1755 when extensive recording of solar sunspot activity began. Solar cycle 19 lasted 10.5 years, beginning in April 1954 and ending in October 1964. The number of sunspots witnessed on the Sun during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 1957 (503), alarmed scientists so much at the time, that an International Geophysical Year was declared at the peak of this solar cycle to bring the Russian and US scientists onto the same page after the cold-war silence. Curiously, President Eisenhower went on to authorise the opening of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in July 1958. The Space Race Began.
We are launching rockets into space all day and every day around the world. Every time these rockets are launched they punch a hole in our ionosphere dumping massive amounts of particulates into our atmosphere. The problem here lies not with airlines who, indeed, do spray toxic substances (aluminium and barium) into our skies, however, the amount is minuscule when compared to the incredible amounts dumped into the atmosphere by space agencies and the satellite service.
The ionosphere, Van Allen belts, and upper atmospheric winds are invisible. Solution: Dump chemicals in space and suddenly the invisible can be studied: visibly with telescopes, optically with lasers, and electromagnetically heated with high-powered microwaves (ionospheric heaters) to modify space weather. Aluminium (TMA), Barium, Strontium, Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6), and Lithium have been dumped in space to study and modify space weather for over sixty years and nobody knew. Harry Wexler warned in 1962 that rockets are burning holes in the ionosphere, destroying the ozone layer, and modifying weather on a global scale. The year following his death W. W. Kellogg from the RAND Corporation suggested expanding the use of sounding rockets to do just that: modify global weather. Wexler’s prescient work between 1958 and 1962 “On the Possibilities of Climate Control” reminds us that we are not the first generation to be involved with or concerned about geoengineering.
Wexler's warning.
“The subject of weather and climate control is now becoming respectable to talk about.” So began Harry Wexler in his speech “On the Possibilities of Climate Control,” given in early 1962 to technical audiences in Boston, Hartford, and Los Angeles. Wexler, who studied meteorology at MIT and served as Chief of Scientific Services at the US Weather Bureau, supported his claim by citing, among others, President John F. Kennedy’s recent speech at the United Nations proposing, “cooperative efforts between all nations in weather prediction and eventually in weather control” and the State Department’s urging of “early and comprehensive study in the light of developments in outer space of the possibility of large-scale weather modification.”
Wexler assured his audiences that he was concerned not with the long and checkered history of cloud modification leading to more-or-less localized precipitation influences, but with planetary-scale manipulation of the Earth’s shortwave and longwave radiation budget that would result in “rather large-scale effects on the general circulation patterns in short or longer periods, even approaching that of climatic change.”
These effects, details later, included increasing world temperature by several degrees by 2 detonating up to ten H-bombs in the Arctic Ocean; decreasing world temperature by launching powder into an equatorial orbit to shade the Earth and make it look somewhat like Saturn and its rings; and notably, destroying all stratospheric ozone above the Arctic circle using a relatively small amount of a catalytic agent such as chlorine or bromine. Wexler was interested in both inadvertent climate modification, such as might be created by rocket exhaust gases or other pollution, and purposeful effects, whether peaceful or hostile. So remember it was Wexler, about 50 years ago, who first claimed climate control was “respectable.” Wexler died suddenly in 1962. Harry Wexler on Geoengineering and Ozone Destruction
Unliveable Hell-Hole Series!
If you were drawing up a list of possible locations for hell on Earth before this week, well, the Tampa Bay area in Florida would spring to mind I guess. The US president, Joe Biden, and other government leaders have warned worried populations to brace for more. Shocked climate scientists are wondering how even worst-case scenarios failed to predict such furnace-like conditions, drought areas, flooding and storm conditions ravaging the earth in the last few years. The fear is that weather systems might be more frequently blocked as a result of human emissions—Really?
According to President Trudeau, without emissions from cars, farms, and industry, the record temperatures in the western north Americas last May would be expected only once in tens of thousands of years, but the probability rises along with the levels of greenhouse gas. “In the present-day climate, getting an extremely hot June is common and is likely to occur twice in three decades. However, an analysis of many computer models suggests that by the end of the century these extreme temperatures are more likely than not. Human influence is estimated to have increased the likelihood of a new record several thousand times.” Really?
Rising temperatures can be seen across the world. Even in the Middle East, temperatures of 50C plus were once outliers, but parts of Pakistan, India, Australia, the US, and Canada are now regularly approaching or passing that mark. But the intensity of the heat in the northwest Americas and Europe this year and Siberia last year has taken many scientists by surprise and suggested extra factors may be involved in northern latitudes. One theory is that the recent temperature spike might have been caused not just by global heating, but by slowing weather systems that get stuck in one place for an extended period, which gives them time to intensify and cause more damage.
This was an important factor in the devastation in Texas caused by Hurricane Harvey in 2018, which sat above Houston for several days rather than blowing inland and weakening. Blocked high-pressure fronts were also blamed for the blistering heatwave in Europe in 2019 and 2022. Experts at the Potsdam Institute and elsewhere believe the rapid heating in the Arctic and decline of sea ice is making the jet stream wiggle in large, meandering patterns, so-called Rossby resonance waves, trapping high- and low-pressure weather systems in one location for a longer time, which is exactly what Lynden Johnson desired during his Texan State University speech in 1962.

This is off topic, I'm sorry.
ReplyDeleteI've dropped off the bottom of the email list for TBW & thought I would unsubscribe & resubscribe to reset things. However I can't now locate the 'Subscribe' button for the site. Does anyone know where it is? It must have been here once upon a time!
Thanks Gary. Appreciate your blog very much.
Thanks, OMR. I have been having issues with Google. Try the top right of the page, I have added a new subscribe button. Let me know if it works!
ReplyDeleteSadly not, unless I'm doing something wrong.
ReplyDeleteFrom either of the new dropdowns at the top, I'm given the option of which blog I want to subscribe to. Looking at the bottom of this page, I'm guessing I need Atom. If I click on that at the top, I get the same page of code that I get if I click on the 'Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom)' link below. (I had tried that already!)
Back to the drawing board I'm afraid, unless, as I said, I'm doing something wrong.
No, it's not you, other people are complaining, I think Google has taken the original subscription down for some reason, sorry.
