November 2021 is going out with a bang! As far as major go anyway, 4 major quakes, mag 6 or higher have rattled the Pacific ring of fire in the last 4 days bringing November's total to 17 with just a few hours of the month left.
The biggest of the quake of the month was the massive mag 7.5 off the West-coast of Peru on Sunday night the 28th. A mag 6.6 and a 6.3 struck almost simultaneously off the Japanese Eastern-coast on Monday and this morning a mag 6.0 struck Papua New Guinea.
The total number of major quakes, mag 6 or higher for 2021 with just 1 month to go stands at 145. The total number in 2020 at the same time of the year stood at: 110. In 2019 the total was: 132, 2018 stood at: 120...
