The magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck Iran’s southern province of Hormozgan, state television reported.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, however, the quake struck close to the same location as the Uranium mine complex of Bandar Abbas.

Many houses in rural parts of the province are made of mud bricks and have been known to crumble easily under the impact of earthquakes.

Many of Iran's nuclear facilities are build close to or on seismic fault lines, Iran is at the moment involved in a tit for tat war of sabotage with arch-rivals Israel.

Today's major quake, mag 6 or higher was the 9th of November and the 118th of 2021. At this stage last year 105 major quakes had been recorded world wide.
