A mag 6.3 rocked the Kermadec Islands, New Zealand this morning bringing the 22nd major quake to the area just this year: This morning's quake was the 19th major quake of a busy August 2021.Today's mag 6.3 was also the 108th major quake of 2021.

In what could possibly be the last major quake of August 2021 a mag 6.5, of course, reduced by USGS to a mag 6.3 rocked the Kermadec Islands, New Zealand this morning and bringing the 22nd major quake, (mag 6 or higher) to the area just this year. There are no reports of damage to property and no tsunami warning was issued.

This morning's quake was the 19th major quake of a busy August 2021. Today's mag 6.3 was also the 108th major quake, (mag6 or higher) of 2021. At the same point last year just 83 major quakes had been recorded and in 2019, 100.
