Signs and wonders, the Washington monument hit by lightning yesterday.
In his inaugural address, President Trump claimed, the Bible tells us, “how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” He also promised to bring back our jobs. We will bring back our borders. We will bring back our wealth. And we will bring back our dreams. We are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the American People. What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people. January 20th 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again. The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer. But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists. Mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities; rusted-out factories scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation; an education system, flush with cash, but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of knowledge; and the crime and gangs and drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential. This American carnage stops right here and stops right now. Everyone is listening to you now. Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighbourhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves.
Three and a half years later Mr Trump's American dream is in tatters. On that day on January 20th 2017, Mr Trump declared, "This American carnage stops right here and stops right now." The carnage actually started this year with more than 30 million people losing their jobs due to Covid-19 in the first 5 months of the year. At this level, the unemployment rate would be the highest since the Great Depression. A mass extinction event of jobs and small businesses has brought the US economy to its knees. Over 100.000 people have died in the US and while Trump's government are easing lockdown restrictions Covid-19 is alive and well and is infecting more people than ever. Yesterday, more than 130,000 caught the Coronavirus, the biggest single-day number since the pandemic began, 2,000 more than the old record which was just 7 days ago, on the 30th of May, the average daily number of new infections worldwide is around 120,000 with America still averaging more than 20,000 new infections every day. Covid-19 dashboard
President Trump claimed back in January 2017, the Bible tells us, “how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” It is ironically the Bible which has alienated Mr Trump from so many as he has this week. His decision to invoke a military response to nationwide protests against police brutality, symbolized by the move Monday to gas mostly peaceful protesters in a park across from the White House to clear the way for a staged photo outside a church, appears to have been a fateful miscalculation and is clearly an about-turn in his promise of transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to, the American People.
Revolution?
There are many reasons why American people are inching toward a revolution. January 20th 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again, according to Mr Trump, however, he should be careful what he wishes for. The American middle-class, merchants, manufacturers, professionals had gained financial power but in just 5 months that financial power has been snatched from them due to the virus. Those who were socially beneath them have had very few rights and most have become increasingly impoverished. The government is no longer viewed as a stable fare source of power and are invariably out of touch with the American people. African Americans are once again rioting after yet another murder of an innocent black man by racist police officers, who should be serving the people not killing them. The white supremacists have been itching for a revolution for decades and the Antifa and black lives matter movements just might provide them with one. Meanwhile, homelessness, poverty and gang culture continues to expand at alarming rates with drug addictions exploding into its own epidemic.
As Mr Trump mentioned in his inaugural address, "Mothers and children are trapped in poverty in our inner cities; rusted-out factories are scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation; an education system, flush with cash, but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of knowledge; and the crime and gangs and drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential. Everyone is listening to you now (they surely are but for all the wrong reasons). Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighbourhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves, that statement feels a long long way-away at this moment.

A revolution to what? I often chuckle a revolutionaries - including our own. So many are ready to die for change. But not many know what we are going to change to. China is a great example. Changed to Communist China. Was that better? 65 million dead in the process? Revolution and change to what? - I says. We have the country that is the envy of the rest of the world - and we are willing to burn it down and replace it with ....
ReplyDeleteDo you really believe you have a country that is the envy of the rest of the world, are you serious? I wouldn't want to live there if someone paid me. Look at the surveys on the net, the most wonderful places to live are Denmark, Holland and Sweden, peaceful friendly places, the US is way down on the list, even bellow the UK and that is a stretch. Where do you people get this bravado from? You are not great, you are a nation of obese, ignorant, looting, drug-fuelled, gun-toting, pornography-producing savages the world has ever seen and you will fall into your quagmire of muck very soon. Envy of the rest of the world, oh my goodness.
ReplyDeleteThat's a rather harsh and insenstive comment to make about a nation in strife. But it had to be said
DeleteSo, I take it you do not live in this the United States - the best country since the creation of man? That is why you don't know what you are talking about. So you get your information from the Propaganda News Media? Bad source.
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you have been to Maine, to West Virginia to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, to Montana. If you have been here and have only been to urban areas visiting friends at the favorite bars or party places - you have seen nothing. And that is just the beginning of what you have been missing.
If your country implodes it will be fro the cities, and they are the centers of centralised control which permit you to live beyond them. It if goes wrong ti will do so for all of you. And I hope it does not but the tensions that you ahve, that also exist here in Europe, do not bode well for any of us.
DeleteSadly, yes he thinks this and you are spot on with your assessment f America.
ReplyDeleteAs an American myself, I feel shame for who this nation has been not only in recent times but in the five decades I've been living.
I've traveled the too many European nations and have long recognized how far behind we are.
The idea of American exceptionalism is ingrained into rural America. Just as racism, homophobia, xenophobia and illiteracy are. a
They not only hinder American progress but take pride in doing so.
The division they sew with their perverted views has led to countless suicide among LGBTQ youth, hate crimes, lynchings of African Americans, and all varieties of hate cloaked in religious freedom.
Obesity is a huge problem among rural Americans because corporate America uses their ignorance just as the government does.
Thankfully there reign over America is coming to an end. The masses are waking up and forcing change.
Strange how we all follow the media narrative. Obama paved the way for American poverty and under Trump the unemployment was the lowest it has been in half a century before COVID hit.
ReplyDeleteTrump may be an arrogant loudmouth cowboy but dumb people don't build 8 billion dollar empires.
Again we all follow the media narrative and believe COVID19 needs to be feared. That is utter rubbish fed to us by those who stand to profit in the order of billions at the expense of every day people. Just check out the figures on https://www.worldometers.info/ for various estimated death rates. Counties are spending billions of dollars a day on COVID19 when an estimated 2 million people have already died this year from smoking related diseases. HIV/AIDS so far more than 700,000 and still no vaccine! Oh gosh so far more people have died on the road this year than have been killed by the COVID19 virus.

ReplyDeleteThe greatest country in the world??? Operation warp speed vaccination deciept force and our military war criminal appointed by trump - Mattis.
Doesn't our faith tell us to have no other gods before our Lord? Idols. The american dream billionaire president. You dont become a billionaire without hurting people along the way. 13 bankruptcies are how you do it. Dont pay your debts, claim bankruptcy 13 times and make hundreds of millions of dollars. That's the american dream? Speak for yourself please!
Welcome back
ReplyDeleteSee, here's the problem: "Obama paved the way for American poverty."
ReplyDeleteSee, these are the lies that are gobbled up by conservatives. They pretend to be prophets when it comes to Democrats, and believe their own lies and spread them. And everyone on their side, (I now believe that 50% of whites in America are racist,) will march in step, join the "outrage" that Fox News and all of them propagate. (Hint: my own guess as to the eternal unspoken reason behind the far-right's motivations: "WE DON'T WANT OUR TAX MONEY TO GO TO BLACK PEOPLE WHO HATE US!"
How do you know that "Obama paved the way for American poverty"? Do you mean "by pulling us out of a potential DEPRESSION caused by greed, and handing a recovering and growing economy to the fake president we now have?
Here is how I would speed up the economy if I didn't care about anything but my own ass:
1. I would get rid of as many environmental protections as I could. Check.
2. I would remove the safety controls that would prevent another economic catastrophe that Obama saved us from. Check
3. I would have TAX CUTS! The magical conservative solution. No conservative thinks or realizes that the bills must be paid! Real conservatives would admit that those bills must be paid by our children - or better, great-grandchildren! So we cut taxes and borrow the money to pay the bills. It doesn't matter as long as it is not going to black folks who hate us whites, right?
That's all it takes, and it only takes a selfish monkey to do it.
The fact is that Americans have lived better than the kings of old for over a hundred years, whether Democrat or Republican, whether with strong unions or weak.
But Fox News and others have been attacking America for 20-30 years, spewing lies and hate, hate, hate, and dividing us. It takes one to know one, so those "outraged" viewers have been taught that the Democrats are the haters and dividers. It is so sad, so sad.
While we live better than kings, Fox has been screaming "outrage" for three decades. Their sick view of the world has been waiting for their "Messiah", a man that saw the role ripe for the picking, and he filled it, by God, he filled it, spewing the same hate and division and causing the faithful followers, made ready by 30 years of propaganda.
"I'm anti-abortion, except for my teenage daughter or mistress." Let's drop a nuke on Iran now"
Here are some facts: The Republican party used to be made up of educated white men. Then, many of those guys moved to the Democrat side. Republicans replaced them with evangelicals by going anti-abortion. That was easy. But they needed more to stop the bleeding.
Then, because uneducated people mentally must get rid of their failure by being "outraged" at someone worse, Fox and Limbaugh and Co drew them like flies to feces. I know ignorant guys on food stamps that don't care that they are voting for folks that will take away their food stamps! That is how powerful negativity is! Amazing.
And guns? Don't get me started. They magically believe that they NEED assault weapons to be able to fight the US government someday. Really. These are yeehaws that can't get even get along with their neighbors, that magically beleive that they can magically overcome the Army and National Guard to "save" our consitution, which they largely ignore, except for what Fox tells them. And your children being shot up in schools by high-strung whites who live on a diet of Fox News is just "the price for freedom". So sad.
All while we all live better than kings of old. But the conservative cultists are worse than the worst hypocrites that have ever been pointed to hell.
"Obama paved the way for American poverty." Gobble it up, conservatives. Yum.
Hey David Susen -- I have a question for you: you DO realize that if (heaven forbid!) your dear Gropenfuehrer somehow gets re-elected in November, one of the first things he will do is REINSTATE THE DRAFT, don't you?
ReplyDeleteThat being said, given the fact that your dear Gropenfuehrer is POSITIVELY ITCHING LIKE HELL for an excuse to attack Iran and plunge America into another TOTALLY SENSELESS RICH MAN'S WAR FOR OIL, I have another question for you: are you military age or have any loved ones who are (or will turn 18 within the next year) like I do? If so, are YOU or your military aged loved ones willing to ENLIST OR GET DRAFTED if (heaven forbid!) The Boy Who Cried "NUKE!" (i.e. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu) goads your dear Gropenfuehrer into attacking Iran? Somehow, I'm getting a deep gut feeling the answer from you and your military aged loves ones is going to be A RESOUNDING NO!
The human led utopian world is an ancient idea going back to the Tower of Babel that has failed over and over again. No nation is greater or better morally than the other. God will judge all the nations and their citizens. Only God knows what is in people's heart, and will render judgement accordingly. Pray to the Holy Spirit to guide you and find/believe Jesus Christ as your only hope of salvation. It is the most important decision you will make in your temporary life that secures your eternal life w/ God & Jesus the son of God. Amen.
ReplyDeleteStick your silly god idea where it doesn't show. Why should I pray to Jesus? Why not Allah,/ or Mohammed, or Yehovah, or Zeus, or Krishna, or Zoroaster, Baal, or... or... etcetera, etcetera. If I pray to yours maybe I have picked the wrong one, maybe you have too! Then we would be in the bad books of the real? ONE. Well? Which is it and why are you right? Because you believe! And who says you are correct? Your Priest? Your Rabbi? Your Imam? Your Guru? He/She/or it is just another salesman pushing his product versus a competitors!
DeleteWhen a natio in great tension tips over into break down or worse the tipping point comes and goes so quick that we only see it in hindsight. Government departments know this full well and have plans to attempt to ameliorate it. However, if the divisions are already running too deep then no amount of centralised organisation will prevent a period of internecine rage.
ReplyDeleteTo believe in something you have never seen is true faith, true faith will bring you the Holy Spirit which will open your heart to the ONE AND ONLY true God, Jehovah. Believe me, if you have opened your heart to Jehovah, through Jesus Christ you will know through the Holy Spirit alive inside you that HE is the one and only true God.
ReplyDeleteI started this thread with a question. Replace what we have had to what? I heard lots bla bla bla but no answers. And the reason is because there are no answers. What we have is as good as it is going to get until .... there is One who runs the whole world. And he is soon to arrive.
ReplyDeleteI base my belief of The true and only God that is written in the Bible. Moses wrote Genesis thru God's word of His creation of the heavens and the earth w/ all that is in it. The story of the coming redeemer/messiah is stated many times in the old testament. The miracles of healing the sick by Jesus was remarkable w/ many witnesses on numerous occasions. Don't just take anybodies word on it, read the Bible & see if it resonates to who the one true God is.
ReplyDeleteThe Rock of Daniel Chapter 2 is coming.
