2019 gets underway with 2 major quakes a powerful magnitude 6.8 Brazil and a magnitude 6.1 Alaska

2019 gets underway with 2 major quakes, a magnitude 6.8 Earthquake - Acre, Brazil and a
M6.1 Earthquake - the Andreanof Islands, Aleutian Islands, Alaska to bring the total quakes in 2019 to two.
January 2018 recorded 12 major quakes, see info below.

Above 134 major quakes (mag 6 or higher) with 17 of them mag 7 or higher were recorded in 2018 which is the third lowest this century after 2017-111 and 2012 with 133, the highest total ever recorded in one year was 2011, the year of the Fukushima disaster when 208 major quakes rocked our planet, 2007 recorded 201, see below.
