A massive magnitude 8.0 strikes the Solomon Islands: Warning of "widespread, hazardous" tsunami waves just a couple of hours after M6.7 off coast of California


A massive 8.0 quake strikes off Solomon Islands’ coast just a couple of hours after a mag 6.5 struck off the North Californian coast and is the third major quake in just two days.

The major quakes could be due to the fact a massive coronal hole on our Sun has turned to face the Earth. Coronal holes are considered by many experts to be the primary factor for causing large earthquakes so keeps your eyes open and your ears peeled.
The quake was measured at 8.0 at a depth of nearly 50 km and a tsunami warning has been issued.

It is the 6th major quake of December and the 130th of 2016.
